Fits my standard door frame, no problems.
Easily removable when not in use or for using on the floor for pushups.

way that if it fails you will be injured. Don't jump up and down, don't use it as a swing, don't do gymnastics on it. But for pull ups, stretching, and everything it is designed for it's rock solid.
Other reviewers suggested placing socks over the ends where it makes contact with the door frame. I agree that that is a sensible precaution (especially if you rent lol). I haven't had any door frame damage but I don't know if the socks actually help or not. Read Less
And if I ever find I'm out of toilet paper, I can always have a pair of extra rolls on the pull up bar.
Perfect
ve. We can take it down easily when company comes over so no one bumps their head going through the doorway. I would definitely recommend it. He's happy to have a pull-up bar and I am happy that my door isn't ruined and we didn't have to drill holes into the wall/door/frame to make it work. Read Less
I bet most of us are the type who got suddenly hyped about working out, and decide to buy a workout bar.
Fast forward a week and we be back to eat junk food.

Yes, you must drill a hole in the wall in order to hang it up and do pull ups and chin ups

Overall it is a great bar to have laying around. I use it sometimes, but it's still better then no times Read Less
. I followed another reviewer's recommendation to cover the padded ends with a sock so it doesn't leave black marks on the door frame. I'm not sure if this is a legitimate issue but I didn't want to find out the hard way. So far I'm very happy with it, will update my review if something changes. Read Less

r. At this point I have roughly 2,000 pull-ups on it with continued daily use. The hand grips are the only noticeable sign of wear on the unit. The outboard rubber pads have now left faint black marks on my white door frame which I assume will clean off with soapy water. Still I am impressed with this budget pull-up bar. Read Less
ll. I've had one of these Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout bars for over 10 years and used it so much that the foam is just starting to wear off, so I just replaced it with a new one. That's pretty crazy that it's held up this long when you consider how many hours I've used it for over a decade and yet it only costs about the same as one month at the gym. I highly recommend! lt is something in-between a chin and a lat pulldown that gives me a really nice pump. I saw the complaints but so far I have not had issues. One of the selling points was the lateral handles. With those and the foam I have no joint strain and a great grip and I can do sets of 10-15 reps (with some weight on the step as I mentioned) and get a fantastic effect. I'm very happy with it. them just fine. If you want something fancier you might want to spend some more for it but if you just want to do pull-ups and maybe some push-ups and/or crunches, this will do the job. Read Less
It was easy to put together. It has held up very well with 4 months of almost daily use. I have had no issues with the bar damaging my door trim or wall paint at all, as others have said. But I only weigh 110 lb, so that may be a factor.

ne thing I don't like is that since I am 5'7" I can't start a chin-up from a dead hang in a hollow body position. A shorter person could. You can bend your knees to start from a dead hang - which is fine for a pull-up but I don't like that position for a chin-up.
Another bonus is that I have attached a TRX to the bar and it works great. This is better than using the TRX over a closed door b/c you can get under the TRX anchor point for certain exercises.
Overall this bar and it's ability to accommodate the TRX has been fantastic for home workouts. I really don't miss the gym much at all. Can do almost everything with TRX, - only miss squat and deadlift with bar. Read Less

WOULD use the inside more. There is no padding there, so I don't. I also find that with the narrower doorways, it is really hard to do pull-ups because my elbows keep hitting the door jams. Not very practical. Chin-ups are great, though, and that is the main reason I bought it. Read Less
den bursts of energy and needs a quick, convenient outlet for them. Lacking arm strength, he typically does flips, rather than pull ups, but it still depletes his energy (and strengthens his core) so it's a WINNER! The door will not shut while this is hanging in the doorway, but that is easily rectified by lifting the pullup bar up to remove it. There is a safety clip that gets inserted into the trim that runs along the top of the doorway, but this clip in no way contributes to the strength of the bar when it is in use, or the stability of the bar when it is not in use (as long as it isn't bumped). It is merely used to make sure that when the bar is removed, it is not removed by rocking the bar backwards, because that would cause it to fall on you if not for the presence of the little clip. It may look flimsy, but it is more than enough to get the job done, and I love how it does not need to be hammered or screwed or in any other way installed into the door frame. It simply slides in and out. Take it out when you take the bar down, because it will fall out without the bar to keep it in place. To remove the bar from its position in the doorway, you simply stand on the side of the doorway where the safety clip is installed and lift the bar straight up and over the clip. Already supporting the weight of the bar, there is no danger of it falling on you! Read Less
changes. I increased muscle mass, lost weight, and was even able to tone some pre-existing muscles. Since I’ve bought this product I have lost a majority of my gynecomastia, gained 2-3 inches on my biceps, toned all my upper body muscles, and even set a path for a six pack! After using this bar I can confidently say that I have increased my max amount of pull-ups from 0 to 20 comfortably. I would absolutely reccomend this to anyone who wants to get ripped without leaving home. Read Less
