more well made than others I've gotten inside kits. I took out several pieces and kind of had difficulty getting it back in the box so I could close it up. Despite that, I do like this kit and would recommend it as a basic survival kit to carry in a go bag. Read Less
it for urban survival rather than in the woods, even though it does come with a wire saw. The container itself is very sturdy and this kit has some heft to it. There is no clip on the outside so this would have to go into a backpack or the trunk of your car unless you want to thread some paracord into the loops on the outside. I think this kit is meant to be used once opened by placing the individual pieces in your pockets rather than have to go into the kit each time as organizing all this back into the small space would be difficult.
There are a few things missing from this that are vital like a water bottle or some sort of container for liquid, even though the holder to attach one to your belt is included. The included knife is better than nothing, but a good Swiss Army Knife would beat it easily while fitting in the same amount of space in the case but giving you MANY more tools. Also, some paracord would be very useful in here, so add that asap.
Again, for the price, this is a great starter kit and definitely better than having nothing. Put this in your car with a few other things and you'll be ready for an emergency. Read Less

There are a couple higher quality/heavier duty items in the kit like the multipurpose tool, pen, and knife. All feel well made and will last many, many years with frequent use. You can always find a use for the knife and multi-tool.
OVERALL - this kit doesnt lack. It has everything you would need in a survival kit. Excellent for an emergency kit for your car or house (that is what we are using it for), or hiking. Read Less
ped in plastic. Nothing arrived broken and everything came in working order. You will need to provide a battery for the flashlight, but other than that, it is ready to throw into your backpacking kit, etc. It’s pretty lightweight, so it won’t weight down your gear’s which is perfect if you plan to use this for any hike-in camping locations. I was able to easily pack all components of this kit back into its hard case without issue. This is definitely a must for anyone who loves spending time in the great outdoors and makes a great gift. As for the trinkets, they are all fine. An experienced hiker/camper will have better versions of some and no versions of others. That's really not the point of it though be...Read More
cause it is fun to check each trinket out and pass judgement.
For a new hiker/camper this is a nice little kit that includes the stuff that newbies tend to buy before they figure out what they actually want. It's a necessary learning phase. No one knows what they actually want to toss in the pack until they've played with some gear. This is a nice little pack-o-gear to get someone started. If they stick with it a few years, the stuff they'll want will be personal to them, subject to change, and unpredictable. Read Less
pen if it's for survival purposes?? I think it would've been better made as a little hidden knife area that looked as if it was a pen or something that had more use you know. Besides all of that, it all works wonderful & has made a nice addition to our camping/emergency gear. Read Less

everyone's car. On top of that put in a life straw of some kind for drinking purposes and you have a solid kit.
What I liked about this is the box it came in with was solid!! That's a nice plus because you know that it's going to keep the contents somewhat safe.
You can read above all the details of the kit so I won't bore you with that.
I found the knife sharp, the fire starter working right, the compass was accurate according to my phone compass, the light was bright enough for basic use, the whistle works loud and the multi-tool looks like its good to have. The blanket sounds like a good idea but I hope to never have to use that.
Bottle holder was a first for me and it looks neat for sure.
The mini saw I can see being used for little timber cuts. a pair of gloves might be nice to have with it as well.
Lastly the pointed pen looks like it can be a good weapon but I haven't used it yet.
I found that the light is nice at a wide beam and when your narrow it you can make out the shape of the diode. First time I've seen that. Not a big deal but probably tells you how cheap it is. Though the light is solid metal and works pretty well.
Overall Its a pretty good kit! :) Im really happy to have it sitting in my car just in case. Read Less
